Trip Overview
Travel carefree by luxury coach, with accommodation at 3 and 4 star hotels including daily breakfast and dinner.
We will land at Rome and travel north to the Grand Hotel Vittoria at Montecatini to spend 7 days in the heart of Tuscany. We will then travel South to Montefalco in Umbria to enjoy the hospitality of Giuseppi and Piero on their 500 year old farm. This will be our base as we explore towns such as Assisi, Spoleto, Gubbio etc. We next journey south to go to Minori at the Amalfi Coast and explore seaside towns including Positano and Ravello.
The small group size of 15 to 20 facilitates personal service, with the comfort of a 54 seat luxury coach.
In order to maximize the time spent at these beautiful villages, towns and cities, we will be spending 5 to 7 days at each of the hotels (3 and 4 star), specially selected for their locations in distinctly different areas, from which we travel to nearby destinations.
Dave Lowe will accompany you through the selected sites, but for the more adventurous or experienced lovers of Italy, you will always have the freedom to explore on your own or in smaller groups.
In essence you travel carefree to some amazing sites you are unlikely to discover independently, staying in only hotels with en-suite bathrooms, television, and phones in every room, with daily breakfast and dinner provided.
Weekends are free for you to relax, shop in these wonderful towns or explore surrounding areas by train or local bus. Dave will naturally assist you with these travel arrangements.
We commence our sojourn with a 7 night stay at the Grand Hotel Vittoria in Montecatini with our host Innocente. We will visit nearby Lucca, San Gimignano, Portovenere, The Cinque Terre and Florence with 2 free days to further explore the treasures of Florence or other villages.
Our trip continues with a stay of 6 nights at the 500 year old farm guesthouse of Camiano Piccolo along side the town of Montefalco. Our host is Giuseppe Fabrizi. From this location we will visit Assisi, Gubbio and many other delightful towns. We will on occasion dine outdoors, taking in the hillside views across the valleys of central Umbria.
The next 6 nights are spent at the Hotel Villa Romana in the small seaside village of Minori on the glorious Amalfi coast. From this charming location we will utilize our coach, the local bus line and ferries to reach our various destinations including Isola di Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento and Ravello. |
